what a fun day!

I had a fun day today. I went to Josee's house for a Stampin' Up demonstration. She had organized the whole thing very well. Merci Josee de m'avoir invitee! I bought 2 stamp kits and 2 punches and 2 other little things. Because my order was over 75$ i could chose a free stamps kit out of a special catalogue, so i got a third kit for free. All in all it was a good day. I had fun meeting some of the girls from the forum, some i had met once or twice like Claude and Melane, others i was meeting them for the first time (Sabrina, Danielle, Julie and Amelie) I got home later than i had told my husband and lets just say he was not very happy about it. Talk about ruining a fun day. Anyways i can't wait to get my stuff and start using them, i plan on making cards throught out the year so that when it's somebody's b-day or any other occasion i'll have one on hand .

Encore merci Josee!

so sorry it's been a while

Ok so we had computer problems, again! it just got fixed today so here is what happened in the last week or so.

On saturday the 20th i had the pleasure of having a visit from my friend Josee and her boyfriend Christian. Well actually they came to visit baby Charlie. They brought him 2 outfits and the cutest hat. They were also very thoughtful and brought mommy a little gift; "pois de senteur" body cream from Dans un Jardin. I absolutly love that smell! Thank you Josee! Ce fut grandement apprecier!

My friend Liz was supposed to visit on sunday but started having the gastro during the night, so she'll visit some other time. However we did get the visit of my uncle and his wife, they brought Charlie 3 little pyjamas. Thank you!

I haven't been doing much in the past week (as it should be) my mom was here helping me with meals and cleaning and sterilizing bottles etc... Unfortunetly it couldn't last forever, she had to go back to work. I drove her to the airporton monday, afterwards i went to Clement to buy the bedding set for Charlie and then to l'aubainerie and Old Navy for some 0-3 months clothes and pj's, since Brady had mostly 3-6 months. The 0-3 is loose on Charlie right now, so i assume he'll be wearing that size for at least 1-1 1/2 months.

on tuesday we went to visit Daddy at the office and Charlie met a whole bunch of people. He was very good, awake but not screaming. I had made sure to go right after his feeding.

on wednesday and thursday i stayed home and on friday i went to the CLSC to get Charlie weighed. Guess what?! he gain a whole 1 lbs in 1 week. Doesn't surprise me though because he's been drinking like a little piggy!

I also had time to squeeze in a LO on thursday/friday. it's one of the 2 pages left to finish Brady's first year album. i'd like to get that done before starting on Charlie's.

Today we're going to my brother -in-law's to celebrate my father-in-law's b-day which was last week and tomorrow i'm going over to Josee's house for a Stampin'Up demo, i can't wait! i've been looking at those stamps for a while now, but i'll be really reasonnable due to the fact that i haven't received a mat leave check yet.
I'll update you sooner than next week~!

Charlie's here!!!

Wow what a week!!! We got back from the hospital yesterday afternoon. They didn't even keep us a full 48 hrs considering i gave birth on monday night at 8h46 pm.

So here's how it went: We showed up at the hospital at 8am on monday morning January 15th. They tell me to wait in the little waiting room off the "Acceuil"; there's already 3 mommies waiting. After a while we start talking and we were 2 that were scheduled for an induction and 3 were getting a gel put on their cervix to help dilate (they were allowed to go home and had to come back later)

It had been an extreamly busy night and morning that day; they finally hooked me up on the monitors around 1pm and broke my water around 1h30pm. At this point i was dilated at 3 1/2 cm and effaced at 80%. I was told to walk, walk, walk some more to activate the labor. I started getting real contractions about every 4 min, but they would slow down if i stopped walking. Around 4h15 (after shift change) they checked me and i was only dilated at 4cm. The work was to slow so they hooked me up on Syntho (Pitocin) to activate the contractions and boy did they ever activate.

Around 5pm i took a hot tub to help with the dilation, and i asked for the epidural right away. It took a while for the anesthisist to get there. In the meantime the contractions were so strong (not like with Brady. I was already on the epidural when they had hooked me up to the pitocin the first time, so i hadn't felt thoses contractions the first time around) I never thought i'd be a screamer...but i couldn't control it. The contractions were so strong and painful i was yelling and moaning in my pillow.

The doc finally showed up for my epidural around 6h45 pm. By the time he was done it was about 7h05 pm, with Brady my epi was so strong i couldn't feel anything. This one was dosed a little better. I could feel my contractions in my ass. Everytime i had one it felt like i had an urgent need to poop. So at 7h05 pm i was dilated at 4 1/2 cm and when the nurse came to check on me at 8pm i was at 9 1/2 cm. Talk about working fast! i almost fell out of bed when she told me, i really was not expecting that!

I thought it was gonna take a while (like the first time) At this point Dave was downstairs making long distance phone calls and getting a little something to eat. When he came back in the room he asked me as a joke: "So, when the bb getting here?" So i tell him: "Well, probably before 9pm" He tought i was kidding him when i told him i was already at 9 1/2 cm. Just then the nurse came back to check on me and i really wanted to go to the bathroom but couldn't because the dosing unit for the Pitocin was not on an IV pole so i had to stay in bed. She then checked me again and i was already at 10cm (that's probably why i felt so much pushing in my bum!) So at the next contraction, around 8h25 pm i started pushing and on the second push she told my husband we could already see some hair. She took out a mirror and showed me. Totally amazing! 5 or 6 more contractions and pushing and the head was crowing. At this point i can pretty much feel the burning sensation of the stretching, but i'm told to stop pushing because the doctor isn't there yet. 2 min later she's sitting in front of me and i'm trying not to push while she's putting on her gloves but i feel the baby slipping out; so she tells me to push; the head came out and then the body. I didn't even have to give a push for the body, it just slipped out really quickly.

And it's a Boy!!! We named him Charles Owen Wood, he was born at 8h46 pm, weighing 6lbs 7oz, measuring 19 and 3/4 inches. He's got a full head of dark hair, very long fingers, feet and toes, just like his brother. He's a whole pound lighter than Brady and only 1/4 inch shorter, so he's very thin. Not much fat on him!
Here is one of the first picture of Charlie not even a hour old.
And the second is the first family picture when Brady came to visit the next evening. Charlie wasn't even 24 hours old yet.

today's the day

Well the baby hasn't shown up yet, so i'm going in to the hospital this morning at 8am to get induced. They'll do it by breaking my water and if after a few hours it hasn't worked they'll put me on pitocin. I'm hoping it'll work because since friday i've been getting painful contractions but nothing regular, so maybe it's a sign that my body will react in the right way. I just have to stay positive that everything goes just as good as it did with Brady's delivery.

I'll post more news once we come back home, probably towards the end of the week.

Ciao!

what's new?!

I scrapped!!! I made a new layout yesterday~Little Man~ i have 3 planned pages left to do for Brady's album of his first year, so this is one of them. The second LO~play at the park~ is one that i made months ago, when our scanner was out of commission and i had just forgotten to scan it once it was working again.

I went to see my ostheopath today for 2 reasons, 1- 'cause i had back pain due to my pelvis being unaligned and 2- so that he can induce me naturally before my doctor wants to do it for real (whick she said would be early next week) that will be confirmed tomorrow at my appointment, unless of course i give birth tonight! So we'll see if the ostheo inducement works, it should take 24 to 48 hrs. I'll keep you posted!

i'm still here!

Well it's now the 8th and baby still hasn't shown up yet. I love being pregnant don't get me wrong, and i know i'll miss it after i give birth. But i'm starting to get anxious to know if this little one is a boy or a girl. I wanna go shopping for new bb clothes, I wanna get the room done.

I plan on trying to scrap this afternoon or maybe tomorrow. I still have 3 pages that need to be added in Brady's album, but still have to find the perfect pictures for them. That's always the hick isn't it? Finding that perfect picture to use.

pregnancy update

ok so here's the latest update. I just got back from my doctor's appointment and i'm still at 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. Since my due date is tomorrow she stripped the membranes (sometimes this will help start things). With my first pregnancy they stripped the membranes and i gave birth 2 days later. I'm hoping for the same thing, 'cause on the 7th my doctor's the one on call at the hospital, so the timing would be perfect. I guess we'll have to see. If it doesn't work my next appt is on wednesday and they will probably schedule to induce me early the week after. I really don't want to get induced to i'm hoping the stripping will do the job.

I'll keep you guys posted!

still pregnant

To all thoses who said, "you know a second baby is usually early" well i don't think so. I've got 2 days before my due date and nothing's happening yet. If i'm early it'll be like a day or so.

Yesterday i went to my friend Josee's house for a little crop session. Here are two pages i finished.
The first one: Mystery Baby... i had started the day before but i needed to borrow one of her stamps to finish it.

The second one: Garden of eden, i started at her house and finished it this morning. Both of theses are done with the Rouge de Garance papers. I inspired myself from Daniele (another scrapbooker) one of her last LO, she used RdeG paper and did 1 page-1 paper. So i took that idea from her. It's very minimalist, but i really like the way both pages turned out.

While i was there she took some pictures of me with her new Canon Rebel XTi (i'm soooo jealous!) Here are a few of the pictures:

gift from my son

I've been working on a layout with one of the pictures that i took and unfortunetly i left it on my desk where Brady could reach it. He decided to draw on it. it's my own fault, i shouldn't have left it there. Doesn't really matter 'cause i ended up reprinting it with some modifications on it so i gave him the other one. He then asked me for some flowers while pointing at my Primas (scrapbooking company that make flowers) So i gave him a few with the glue stick. here is what he made me. Me thinks he's a little artist in the making.

As you can see there's lots of glue on there!
