This week I used the June Papercard kit to make a cute little teacher's gift for my son's pre-k teacher.
i know it's been done before but i'm always a little late trying out new tutorials and techniques. It's not because i don't want to but i'm an eternal procrastinator!
these are the measurements for a standard post-it pad.
cut a piece of cardstock 3.5" wide and 7.5" long. On the long side score a line at 3.5" and 4"; fold along the scored lines. Glue a 3" square of patterned papers on the outside and the inside of the top flap. Decorate as you wish, i used some of the dew drops from the kit on my flower centers and added some stickles in pink and light green. Glue your post-it pad on the inside of the bottom flap. I also punched two holes and in the spine 1" from each edge and installed an eyelet with my crop-o-dile. Thread the eyelets with a ribbon and tie a bow.
I don't know if it shows much but i also used a piece of the same patterned paper on the inside of the pen casing. That's very easy to do. unscrew the bottom of the pen (or top in some cases) tightly wrap a small piece of patterned paper around the ink tube and reinsert, shake a bit to loosen it up and screw cap back on. It looks really cool too with a piece of glittered paper!!!
