last creation

i did this one yesterday afternoon. DH was so nice he took Brady and Emilie out for a couple of hours so i could get some scrapping done. Thanks D! the scan is a little sucky, the colors are much more vibrant IRL and on top of the page there is also a white stripe of paint that i sanded off the pp. TFL!

bla, bla, bla...

Ok, so last time i came to chit chat i told you that my car was declared a total loss by the insurance company. So when i came back from my mom's i sent all the papers and waited to know how much they would give me for the car. So here we are driving up to l'Annonciation to a friend's chalet last tuesday when i finally get the call from the ins. What they are gonna give me is enough to cover what was left on my car loan and i'll be able to put a cash down on a new one. While we were at the chalet we had some bad temperature (rain) so we couldn't go swimming in the lake or play outside so we took a drive to Mont-Tremblant. We happened to drive by the KIA dealer and decided to stop and see. Well I bought a CAR. The service was really great, they had everything financial done in a couple of hours and then all that was left was getting the car at the dealers. the next day when we drove back home we stopped by the KIA and picked up the car. Everything was done in approx 28hrs, and the people there were really great! I guess you are all wondering what I bought??? Well for practical purposes we needed something a little bigger because when Emilie is here whe was pretty much squished between 2 car seats. So i got the Rondo EX Premium 7 passenger. It's great because when she's not there i can just put down the last row of seats and have a decent sized trunk and when she's there i just put down 1 seat and still have room for the strollers. I got it in charcoal and it's already dirty!!!! ARGHHHH!!!!

On tuesday we went to the Granby ZOO, it was very hot and humid but we had lots of fun anyways. I got some great animal shots with my zoom lens. And i'd really love to load a picture but the system keeps giving me an error. I'll post it later.

Oh yeah ! Charlie is now sitting on his own. OK so he still falls over but he can stay sitting for a good 10-15 min at a time!

last layouts

ok so finally, here are the layouts i did at my mom's house a couple of weeks ago. they are all done with the new Love Elsie paper collection. i have submitted a few to some mags and i'm really hoping to get published this year. i think my pages are getting better and better every time. ok so i'm trying to make myself feel good, but i also told myself that i'd try and keep a positive outlook on everything from now on!

haircuts

So the boys went for haircuts on friday morning. Let's just say they were both due. Charlie's only 5 months and i didn't want to cut his hair, but i must say i really didn't have a choice, strangers were starting to tell me how beautiful my "daughter" was. see for yourselves. Now he really looks like a boy, and i'm still not used to the new look. I find Brady's hair is also a little too short but it will grow out fast enough. Oh ya! and can you believe he's only 5 months and sitting in that little car with no one holding on to him?! i did have to steady him after a while but he sat by himself most of the time.

this is fun!

ok so we got back on sunday night, my hubby drove down on friday to pick us up. Here are a few pics taken during the trip.

update on the accident

Well i finally got a call from the insurance company regarding the damage on my car and the girl tells me that after having had the car inspected they were declaring it as a TOTAL LOSS!!! you can imagine my surprise... from the outside the damage doesn't look that extensive but i guess the frame got damaged. i'm going to get all of my stuff out of the car later and i'll take pics so you can see. So because of this my husband will drive down on friday or saturday to pic us up. Thank you sweetie!!!

On another note i've created more pages in the last 1 1/2 weeks then i have in the last month or so. the new papers from the Love Elsie collection are great, they've brought me back to jr and high school when i used to doodle a lot. I've made 1.5 layout in the last 90 min, i think that's a record for me!!! Her stuff is really out there and won't be for everybody and i tought i'd have problems working with them but they really inspired me and i'm in a good groove. So far i've done 3.5 layouts and 3 cards while i've been here! Wou! Hou!

creative juices flowing

i've made 2 thank you cards for the ladies that lent us the stroller and the playpen (so Charlie would sleep somewhere) and i've also made 2 layouts, a third will be started tonight probably, with the new papers from the Love Elsie line. Can't wait to go back home so i can scan them and show you!

talk about BAD luck!

Yesterday, my mom and I went out to run some errands with the kids in tow. First stop at the LSS to exchange a defective stamp i bought the day before then off to Chapters. My mom had to buy a book for her bookclub and i bought a grande Frappuccino Dulch de la Leche for my mom and got myself a grande iced peppermint mocha... i had been looking foward to this all week!!! We drive back home with the coffees in a tray on my mom's knees, i stop at my mom's driveway and signal to turn left (i had to wait because there were oncoming cars) when I look into my rearview mirror and notice that the car behind my is not slowing down at all! "Oh Shit! this guy's not stopping!!!" said the little voice in my head. "Oh non! Oh non!" out loud (but i don't remember saying it, my mom said that's what i had said) I take my foot off the break and start to do an emergency maneuver to move but too late. The guy hit us dead center in the rear. I put the car in N and pull on the emergency break, get out of the car and go to the back to get Charlie who is crying (he's the first one that started crying, it took Brady a few minutes but when the initial shock left he started crying too), my mom does the same on her side to get Brady out. My hands are shaking so bad i can barely get the harness off Charlie to get him out. So we crossed the street to where the witnesses were and a lady that lives in my mom's block called the police, they came took our statments and filled out a report. The man hit us so hard that the car leaped foward at least 8 feet, because i was totally passed the driveway. It was and old man of about 70+ and he at least had the decency to pull over into the side street, but when he got out of the car he didn't even know what had just happened. The nice man that was behind him also stuck around as a witness and he saw that my blinker to turn was on. Good, 'cause i was starting to doubt myself if i had put it on or not, but he swears that he saw it on.

So now my car is at the garage waiting for the evaluator from the insurance company, I have a nice rental car from Enterprise, and i'll be in F'ton for probably another week. Hopefully not longer, not that i don't like being here but my poor husband is all alone at home and i miss him and i'm sure the kids miss him too. The sad thing is we son't be there for Father's day. Everybody is OK, jsut a little sore. Me it's especially my neck and back, but not really worst than before, i just hope it won't show up later.

Looks like i'll have an extra special adventure to include in my road trip scrapbook album I was making.

Oh yeah! You can imagine what happened to the coffees on my mom's lap...

made it in one piece

I made it in one piece to Fredericton. The drive went very well, for those who don't know, i drove down to my mom's with the two boys. we left at 7h20 am and arrived in Fredericton at 6h pm so we made it in 11 hours with 10 stops along the way for bottles, running, diaper changes, snacks and lunch. When i get back home i'll post some pictures because i forgot my cable to download my pictures... oops! Hopefully the drive back will be just as good.

While i'm here i'm planning on seeing a couple of friends from high school, visiting and taking pictures of the city and i'm gonna try to scrapbook a little...i didn't bring all my stuff for nothing!

changes, changes

Time flies...and things change. Can you believe Charlie started eating cereal yesterday! I'm in a bit of a rush today so i can't say much, but i'll come back after the week-end. We're going away to a spa week-end in West Brome to relax (and by "we" i mean my husband and I) my dad will be babysitting the kids. I swear that man is an angel! He does so much for us and we really appreciate every little thing. Thanks Dad!

mother's day cards

i made a mother's day card with my step-daughter (she's 7) today, it's fun we're starting to have more of a connection, she likes to craft-i like to craft. So i made a card for my MIL (the brown one) and she made one for her mom (the green one). I helped her with the basics, but she most of it herself. here are our masterpieces.

in memorium

i just came back from the vet's office and unfortunately I had to leave Venus there. She was 14 yrs old and in the past 6 months she was getting more arthritis in her hips. She wasn't jumping as high. In the past 3 weeks she didn't even jump up on the coffee table or couch anymore. And since last Sunday she deteriorated extremely fast. She lost all her weight, she was very bony this morning. Probably due to the fact that she had stopped eating and drinking 4 days ago. She was extremly dehydrated, her bladder was completely empty and she was most likely in a lot of pain. The vet could've kept her over night and plugged her on an I.V., they would've done blood test to see if kidney's were still functioning and to what extent. But she probably would still be in pain afterwards, so i decided to put her to sleep. It was for the best, at least now she's not in pain anymore.

procrastinator

so sorry that i haven't updated my blog lately. I really don't have a good excuse other than the fact (as the title says) that i'm a procrastinator! Last sunday's SU demo was a lot of fun, thanks to all the girlz that came over. i can't wait to get my stuff ( i spent the most out of everybody!) but i got stuff that i really wanted and i think that will be useful in my scrapbooking pages and cards.
Tomorrow is the NSD (National Scrapbooking Day) yes they have one of those! i'm going to an all-day crop at Scrapbook Centrale, there was so many people that wanted to sign up that she ended up renting a local at the DDO Civic Center, how cool is that gonna be! So as my usual routine i'm gonna stop by Starbucks and get myself a coffee. I usually get a mint mochaccino but since it almost summer i think i'll get an ice coffee tomorrow! yum!!! I've got 3 pages planned and i think if i still have time after that i'll start on my altered accordion book for fathers day. it was supposed to be the last project for my scrapbooking classes but the second session was cancelled also due to a lack of people.

On a different note, Brady has been great lately. I think he's over the worst of his terrible two's (even though they weren't that bad to start off with) He's been so cooperative lately. i still have to repeat myself and ask him more than once (most times) but it doesn't end up in tears. He'll usually saying OK. but in this cute little voice. I love hearing those words coming out of his mouth. or he'll say, "i'm coming" when i ask him to come over here...
The other day he did the sweetest thing. i smashed my toes on a chair on my way to the computer to check my email, Brady was sitting at the kitchen table eating his cereal. So after stumbling into the office i'm sitting at the computer desk and Brady says: "Maman...you ok?" I said: "yeah yeah, mommy's ok", it stays like that. 5 min later i go back out into the living room and he looks at me and says: "Maman? You OK?" I say " yes sweetie i'm ok" he holds out his arms and says: "Calin" (hug) so i go over and get my hug, i stand up and he holds out his arms again and says "Calin" again. So i get a second hug just to make sure that i'm feeling better. So i tell him that he always knows what to do to make me feel better. Isn't he the sweetest little boy?!

OMG! my bb's gone! only for the day that is. My parents-in-law took Brady for the whole day. I was really worried because he doesn't see them as often as my dad, so i didn't know how he was gonna react. I mean even my dad never took him for a whole day. I was sure he was gonna cry when it was time to leave but he was really good about it. They just left (it's 10am) and they're bringing him back only after supper. In a way it's good because i've got my SU demo this afternoon and Dave is in Quebec city, so i only have to take care of Charlie and my 8 guests. Hopefully it'll be a good demo.

long time...

oh i know, it's been a while. This will be a short ranting session because it's 1h30am and i'm up! Don't ask...Brady woke up at 12h30 and wanted some water and i couldn't fall back asleep (coughing and a song that is stuck in my head are keeping me awake) I finally finished my antibiotics only to start another cold (hopefully not a sinusitis) On a side note, last week i noticed that Charlie's lower gum has a little line (cut) on the bottom, which means a tooth should be piercing through soon! My Stampin'Up demo is on sunday and i can't wait to see everybody, we will be 9 including me. hopefully i'll get good sales 'cause there are a few things i want!!!

Ok back to bed i go...and try sleep before the kids wake up (Dave is in Qc visiting Emilie)

100th post!

Unfortunately there is nothing super amazing going on that i can talk about for my 100th post. Charlie isn't very well, he's had a fever since last night and slept all morning from 9am - noon. yesterday was the worst day so far for the little one. He's never had colics (and neither has Brady) so we never had to deal with crying fits. Well poor little thing hasn't pooped in a few days and i guess that yesterday afternoon he had huge cramps 'cause the little guy cried and screamed in pain from 3pm-7pm when he finally fell asleep of exhaustion. i woke him up at 9 to give him a bottle and put him back to bed where he slept until 6h30 this morning. Today seems to be going better so far (toc, toc, toc, knock on wood!) I've been giving him some prune juice and i'm hoping that'll do the trick.

On the other hand i made a layout this week and i just love it.

shopping therapy

so i went out this morning and did a little bit of shopping therapy. i'm still kinda bummed out about the DT but it just means i need to change some of my scrapbooking habits if i want to make one some day. I'll explain in another post some other time. for now this is what i got.

at toys r us: a Dora the explorer Candy Land game.
Babyliscious products: 2 sleep cozy, 1 hooded bath towel, 5 teething bibs, 2 regular bibs, 4 receiving blankets, 2 blankets. Mind you it's not all for Charlie, my friend Melanie just gave birth to a baby boy on the 10th. Congrats Mel!

then off to la Scrapbookerie in Candiac: papers, cardstock, ribbon tape, velvet arrow stickers and velvet letter stickers

then off to Omer De Serres: 4 16x20 canvas, 9 4x4 canvas, 1 10x30 canvas, 4 6x6 canvas, some paint, paintbrushes, flowers and wooden letters to write the name Charles.

No news is not good news in this case. It means i didn't get a place on the DT for Just Cre8.

today's the day

Today's THE day the girls that got chosen for the Just Cre8 DT will get the call from Sue. I'm crossing my fingers, but realistically not expecting one. I've seen some LO of other girls that i'm pretty sure entered and they're really good. I guess it all depends on what they are looking for.

i made 2 layouts in the past 2 days. it went quickly 'cause i had sketched them out while waiting at the doctor's office a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunetly the one of me and Brady didn't turn out the way i wanted. While making the page i decided to cut the picture...big mistake, i should've left it 8x12 and bordered on top and bottom with buttons like i originally wanted. But it's too late now, i've cut it and it's done. maybe i'll redo it one day, we'll see.

you remember how i had to go back to the doc last week because my sinus infection had come back. Well the doc prescribed Cifzil which is a cousin of penicillin. I'm allergic to Penicillin, but only 7% of the population with this allergy will have a reaction with it's cousin. Guess what? i'm in that 7%. i woke up this morning with rash and hives all over my body. So off to the clinic i went and now i'm on benedryl for the allergic reaction and a new antibiotic for the sinus infection that was not getting any better with the Cifzil.

Other than that we had a good easter. I hope everyone enjoyed theirs.

Well, here's what's been happening lately. The Just Cre8 website decided to extended the deadline for their Cre8tive Team call. I had wavered a bit when i first read about it because i didn't think i'd have time to finish my projects on time. When i saw they extended it by 1 week i saw it as a sign and decided to apply. The deadline is 11h59 tonight. I sent my application about 30 min ago. I'm happy with the layouts that i submitted and i altered a 20x17 canvas that was lying around my basement. The result of the canvas turned out so much better than i had imagined. They will be making their decision on April 12th, so on the 13th i'll be able to show you my projects.

My mom arrived from F'ton yesterday for the long week-end and i already leaving tomorrow afternoon. At least she got to see Charlie; God knows they grow up so fast! Emilie is also here for the week-end, so today Daphne, Nathalie and Ron came over for a lunch BBQ. Tomorrow is Easter and i'm making a lunch. Obviously my mom and her boyfriend will be there, along with my in-laws, my brother in law and his girlfriend and their 2 year old son. It's gonna be a very noisy house tomorrow, thank goodness for Advil!

Now i'm exhausted so i think i'll go to bed, but first here are a few pictures i took yesterday.

So last week, i sat Charlie in his Bumbo for the 1st time. they recommend 3-4 months old but he's been holding his head up pretty good for a while so i sit him in for short periods at a time. Of Course, Brady wanted to try it too. He's obviously past the weight limit so i told him that after that one time he wasn't aloud to sit in it. I don't want him to break it.




Today i laid Charlie down on him play mat and he stayed there for a good 30 maybe 40 minutes before being fed up. He also grabbed something for the first time. He's only 2 1/2 months but he's amazing. When he looks at you it's so innocent and so full of love it makes my heart melt.
