i just wanted to share

Brady, who's 5 is so funny!  The other day we were watching a kid's movie and there was a preview of Barbie a mermaid's tale.  Brady says: "I wanna see that!"
Me: "really? why?"
Brady: " because surfing is cool"  (Barbie surfs in this movie)
and then he adds "I LOVE girls!"
Me: " ok, then." LOL  he's hilarious!

We are doing it differently this month because we have some exciting news!  First I want to say that we have great stamp designers at PWCO, but we got someone new and hopefully these won't be the only stamps she designs for us.  If you've really looked at the blinkie on the sidebar you might have already guessed who this new designer is.  That's right!  It's none other than Rachelle Ann Miller!

EARTH DAY special post

a little Earth Love on Mother Earth's birthday.

I found this great tutorial on Rachael's blog.  How to make your own watercolor paint, really neat.  I will definitely try this with the kids.  See her tutorial here:

hello,

it's thursday again, my day to post my creation done with the papercard kit.  you can find the kit here.

I love this new line of papers from My Minds Eye, it's called Little Robots and it's adorable, but you can easily use it for other non-robot cards.  Obviously the colors are more boyish but that's really ok since i have two boys!  Oh yeah?!  I almost forgot to tell you, i also used this week's sketch, see it here - SS#29

So what's in it you ask?
cs: Bazzill, Prism
pp: MME Little Robots
die-cut: MME Little Robots
ribbon: doodblebug or Bazzill (i'm not sure, it's from the kit)
ink/markers: Zig charcoal marker, Copics (0, BG93, B32, E31, E33, E37, Y21, YR04, YR23)
other: nestabilities, metallic dew drops (kit), pop dots

miscellaneous updates

first off today i decided that i was sick and tired of feeling icky in my body.  I am slowly easing into eating clean.  To make myself accountable to me, I am doing it a little more publicly, you can see my diary and progress here.

ok now for the funner stuff.

today i made my grandmother's green tomato cake recipe.  don't let the veggies in the cake fool you, this is an awesome cake.  I did tweak it a little to make it more along the lines of clean eating, not completely but a little.  I used whole wheat flour instead of white, sugar cane and turbinado sugar instead of proscessed white sugar.  I also added some ground flax seeds and some wheat germ to it.   There's also some raisins, dried cranberries and pecans in there.  The green tomatoes make this cake super duper moist.

I had my two helpers to make the cake and eat it too!

The verdict:

so yesterday i was alone with no kids and I was able to go to my friend Nathalie's place for lunch and we ended up doing a bit of scrapping.  I made two cards, of course.  well i had no pictures and the papers that i did have with me were kinda girly papers so....
I had been wanting to try this new flower that's all the rage right now.  It's made with material and can i just say it was so much easier than i thought.  i got all three flowers done in about 15 mins!

here are two close-ups of the flowers.

materials:
pp and material: Dear Lizzie by AC, MME
letters: Sassafras Lass

and then i made this one, everything was cut free hand (ok except for the circles, those were punches) but the birds, tree trunks, hills are all cut out by me.  I made it in honor of Earth day which is on April 22nd.

materials
cs: doodblebug
pp: MME Quite Contrary collection
other: sharpie marker (red and brown), Maarvy Uchida and fiskars circles punches

picture post

i've been working on this month's PWCO stamp release and trust me it is AWESOME! check out the blinkie on my sidebar and see if you can catch the clue. So mark your calendars for April 23rd, you won't want to miss this! (pssst....we have a new designer joining us!)

So anyways, today I just wanted to share some pics I took yesterday.

the first one is a cake I made as a donation for a silent auction to raise money for one of my husband's co-worker that is doing the "ride to conquer cancer" If you haven't yet donated, you still have time; just click on the link on the top of my sidebar. It's really for a good cause that is affecting my family. My dad is currently fighting cancer and has been for the past 2 yrs.
thank you.

the second set of pictures are my boys.

Charlie with a cute bear hat my sister gave the boys.
Brady and Charlie, when i take pictures of them Brady always has to have his arm around Charlie's neck. Sometimes it's almost a headlock, LOL!
oh and this one... this morning I asked Charlie if he wanted to exercise, he said yes. I couldn't find the DVD of the kids exercise that I have so I put on the dance exercise DVD from Julianne Hough of Dancing with the Stars. It was so cute to see Charlie do the stretch with the "hot" girls on TV. As soon as they started with the dance moves and it got a bit more complicated though he gave up. He loves to dance so i'm sure i'll be able to get him to shake his booty with me!

Have a great day people!

our baby is 6 months old!

Cosmo the Bernedoodle

Can you believe he's 6 months old already! he's been growing fast and he's not done yet! I'm guessing he's gonna double his size by the time he's full grown.
here's a picture of him when we first got him from SwissRidge Kennels at the age of 8weeks.

PWCO papercard kit love

This month I'm one of the lucky girls that gets to play with the papercard kit at Paperworks Co. Can I just say that it is great!!! love the robots! I'm usually a "slow scrapper" even when i make cards it takes me a while, especially when I'm coloring a stamped image, but with Peggy's kits i can usually crank out the cards pretty quickly. For these two, since i used the chipboard pieces (which saved me some time), they were made within 1hr - 1h 15 min!

for the first card I made a money or gift card holder. I put a little velcro to keep it closed, however it doesn't close it flat there's a bit of dimension to it, but at least your money won't slip out.
materials:
cs: Prism
pp, cardstock: MME Little robots collection
ink: Versacolor (charcoal)
other: Robin's Nest metallic dew drops, Fiskars upper crest border punch, velcro tab (sewing stuff)

For the second card I decided to make an easel card since I hadn't made one in a while.
materials:
cs: Prism
pp, chipboard, die-cuts: MME Little Robots collection
ink: versacolor (charcoal)
other: robin's nest metallic dew drops

My boys told my I should add some sparkles! LOL!

On a side note, i've been taking an online class called Indie Biz 2.0, I've been doing it very slowly and i'm behind on the schedule but that ok you know; I'm not in a super rush and i want it to be perfect. I'm stuck on finding a new name for my shop but that's a whole other blog post, LOL! I did discover some great artists through this class, one of them being Deandra Caudill. She makes these beautiful metal charms that you cna get personalized. She's also having a giveaway on her blog right now, you should really check it out! her blog: All in a days Dream
