misc news

ok so it's been a week already since the last time i posted anything. I started getting sick again last week-end so this week i went back to the doctors and my sinus infection was back so i'm on another round of antibiotics. On friday we went to the movies with some friends. We went to see
300. It was good, lots of blood though, but i like that kind of movie. Not the horror kind, the action/battle kind. And i mean the whole movie was a bunch of men with 12-pack abs and muscular bodies wearing only leather underwear and a cape so it wasn't a brain buster or anything like that. Yesterday we had our first ice cream at DQ....yeah! that means summer's almost here!
This morning Dave left to go to Edmonton, he should be back on wednesday. Next week he's going to Vancouver. Tomorrow i plan on getting a little bit of scrapbooking done....i hope. Speaking of scrapbooking, last monday i went over to Josee's house for a mommy-scrap session with her and Melane. It was so much fun, we all scrapped an easter page and had a wonderful lunch; ceasar salad, garlic cheese bread, lasagna and mixed berry pie with ice cream for dessert....hello the calories!!! but that's ok, it's not like we eat like this everyday! Thanks again Josee for the wonderful day....sorry i'm so late writing about this. here's the layout i did on monday and a few pictures i took during the week.

bubble man

well it's official i think Charlie is starting to teeth...i know it's early (10 wks old) but his brother started at 3 months and didn't get his first tooth until 7 1/2 months. for the past 3-4 days he's been drooling like crazy and last night he was frothing at the mouth!!!

Charlie Bunny

here's a picture i took of Charlie for Easter. i then used Ann Costen's actions for photoshop. Her pictures are always super nice.

Obviously this picture was taken with my new Rebel!!! and i got a great smile from Charlie.

I finally got it!!!

My Canon Rebel XTi!!! i'm so happy! i told myself i'd buy it only when i'd have all the money (i have 1/2 saved up) but it was on sale at L.L.Lozeau so i went to Future Shop and they matched the price -10% of the difference and i put it on the Future Shop credit card and got 3 months no payments, no interest. By the time i get my first invoice i'll probably have the whole amount cash, and if not i'll be damn close.

i tried it tonight and it's unbelievable how fast it takes the pictures. it's great!!! i can't wait to do a little photo session with Charlie and Brady.

Here's a layout i did for the scrapbooking classes i'll be giving. i asked my friend Josee if i could use this picture of her and her daughter Maeva. She was gracious enough to say yes. Encore un gros merci Josee!!!

isn't he precious!

this is Charlie sleeping this afternoon, isn't he precious. Before his naptime, Brady put his little stuffed monkey beside Charlie. i thought that was just too cute!

finally back on track

i went cropping last night and boy did it feel good. i got 2 layouts done. the owner of la Scrapbookerie in Candiac wants "my WISH for you" layout for her website so that means i can't submit it for publication anywhere else. I am gonna put it here for now, but if she tells me i'm not supposed to i'll come and remove it.

I also did one with Brady and Charlie called "Brothers".

Also at my mom's request here is one of the most recent pictures of Charlie, it was taken 2 wks ago, but he still looks the same.

we had a busy week, Brady stayed home with me last tuesday and wednesday 'cause he had thrown up at daycare on monday...i was sick with a really bad sinus infection. he went to daycare on thursday and came home with impetigo, so friday we went to the clinic. Dave was in Quebec city on saturday and sunday because it was his daughter's birthday, so i was home alone with the two kids. I kept Brady home on monday because my friend was visiting with her daughter Lia who is the same age and on tuesday we had to go back to the doctors for a follow-up to the impetigo. Not to sound mean but i was glad he was back in daycare yesterday. I had my gyno's appt (the one after you give birth) so while i was in Boucherville i picked up the valance i had ordered for Charlie's room. Clement had called me about a month ago and i still hadn't gone! And today i had Charlie's 2 month doctor's appt in the morning and in the afternoon we had the first "stimulation" class which we had to leave early to go get his first vaccine! He cried a little after (which is very understandable) but it didn't last more than a minute. OUF!!! what a busy week so far, and tomorrow i decided to go to Scrapbook Centrale to go buy the materials i'm gonna need for my first class. Since there is a crop on saturday i don't want to take the chance of getting there on tuesday and there won't be what i need. So while i'm in the west island i'm gonna go visit my old gang at Tyco (or whoever's left...)
And tomorrow night i'm going cropping at la Scrapbookerie in Candiac. Should be fun, let's just say i haven't had much time to crop lately. i started working on a page yesterday but it's only in the beginning stages. My best friend Tamara might be coming down for a visit from Ottawa this week-end but she wasn't sure yet, i'm still waiting for her confirmation. I hope she does, i love spending time with her and we don't do it often enough!

Bad luck!

wow talk about bad luck, last week Charlie had really bad, dry and scaly skin on his face and head, and now Brady has Impetigo! Yesterday morning he had 1 red dot on his cheek, i didn't think anything of it. When he got back home from daycare he had a rash on half his face and when he woke up this morning it was all over. Thank goodness for my dad. Thanks Dad!!! i called him at 6am and he came right over. I went directly to the clinic and was lucky to be 7th in line, so once the docs started seeing patients we didn't have to wait too long. at 10h30 i was back home just in time for my dad to leave and go to work (he's working at noon) here's a picture of Brady's face, poor kid he looks like he's in his teens with a really bad case of acne!

yeah!!!!

i just pre-ordered my copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows" on Chapters.ca

I can't wait to get it, i guess i'll have to re-read # 5 and 6 before July!

March 8th 2007

good news and bad news...good news is i went to Cheezz photography on Tuesday to get the pictures done with Charlie and i already have access to them on their website so i can start choosing which ones i want. Bad news; Monday Brady was sick at daycare, threw up 3x within 45min before i picked him up, threw up in my car and once at home. After that he was fine, had toast and lots of water and didn't get sick again. But because he threw up i had to keep him home for 48 hours in case it was the flu. Also I've been sick since Monday night. I've had a soar throat for the past week or so and this week-end i was almost gone. I thought i was getting better, but on Monday night it hit me like a freight train! Unbelievable fever, soar throat, mega headache, mucus running down my throat (explains the soar throat!) and my ears are clogged up. Can't breath, Can't sleep, indirectly i'm keeping my husband awake. Yesterday i felt like Shit! and i had both kids home, thank god for DVD's it kept Brady quiet. Last night i finally dragged my ass to the clinic and just as i suspected i've got a sinus/ear/throat infection. So the doc gave me antibiotics, which i started last night, and i already feel a little better. I finally started reading Kathy Reichs latest book "Break no bones" and i'm almost done, 6 chapters left (i'll probably finish them today) .

Scrapbooking has taken a little back seat for now, until i feel better. Then i've got to finish preparing my classes.

March 1st

ok so it's been a while since my last post. In my defense it's been a little hectic. Dave was away to Vancouver last week and this week he's in Moncton (he was supposed to be back tonight but his flight was cancelled due to snow, he has a flight out from Halifax tomorrow, if that doesn't get cancelled)

on the Charlie side of things: he's good, i went to the doctors yesterday for his rash, it's like a heat rash. So i've got to put some 1% cortisone cream on it. I also have to use that same cream in his face twice a day plus a moisturizer (he's got extreamly dry, scaly skin almost like eczema) and i've got a 2.5% cortisone solution for his head once a day and a special shampoo because he's got really bad "cradle cap" (Baby dandruff!) hopefully things will clear up for next week; we've got his pictures at CHEEZZ photography on tuesday or wednesday. BTW, he now weighs 10.5 lbs

Brady is good as usual, tries my patience oncce in a while by not listening but that's being 2 right?! he loves his brother. here's a picture i took of them, i plan on scrapping this one. He often asks if he can have Charlie. he'll sit down on the couch put the breastfeeding cushion on his and holds out his arms. it's so cute, he's very protective of his brother.

On the scrapbooking side of things i finished the "where's my bellybutton?" layout i had started atJosee's house on sunday (by the way i had lots of fun, thanks girls!) and i just finished this "COCO Express" for a challenge on the Scrapbook Centrale website.

Also, i got a call on monday from the Carrefour Familiale in Chambly to ask me if i wanted to give scrapbooking classes for the spring. I said yes of course! so it'll be 3 sessions of 3 weeks on thursday mornings. So for the past 2 days i've been working on preparing the classes. I've got to give the price of the materials per workshop by next week. But for that i need to decide what projects i'm gonna do and see how much it would cost. i've got my first two projects done (i'll post them soon) and i have to figure out how much to charge for my time. ??? i don't know? i want it to be reasonable but i don't want to get screwed either! Once i get my price list down i'll be able to relax a little.

So that's it! you're updated on what's up in my life! i'll try to update sooner but i can't promise anything.

another one

as a scrapbook new years resolution, i told myself that i would try and make a card with the leftovers whenever i finished a layout. here's a thank you card i made last night after finishing my "dream" layout. I'm pretty proud of myself, so far i've made 3 things with the same 2 sheets of paper, and i have some left for another card or a small 8 x 8 layout.

What?

so here's the layout i did with that picture of Charlie. It was the first time i was using an 8 x 12 picture on a layout and i loved it. I'll definetly have to do it again sometimes.

On another note, he's been getting a rash like red bumps all over. At first it looked like baby acne on his face (an i think it was) but then it kinda changed into a bunch of little red bumps and it spread to the back of his neck, then his chest, his back and his arms. Also the skin on his face is very dry and scaly. I hope he doesn't have eczema or anything like that. He's got an appointment with his pediatrician next wednesday, in the meantime the nurse told me i could apply the cortisone cream he had prescribed last time. Hopefully this will go away and won't be a recurring problem, poor kid!

say what???

Well i think that says it all! Dave took this picture last night after Charlie's bath. His hair is always up in the air...i just love it like that! i'm definetly gonna have to scrap this picture!

i've updated my LO "fun at the pool" i stamped the fish on white pp, i find it shows up better.

1 month today!!!

Charlie is 1 month old today!!! Happy month-aversary Sweetie! I'd also like to say Happy Birthday to my dad and my mother-in-law.

So here are some pictures i just took of little Charlie.

Here is his first smile on camera. He started doing them today and he also started doing this weird sort of laugh. it's really cute!

Also, today i went by Josee's house to pick up my Stampin'Up order...here's a picture of what i received. 3 stamp kits (one was free) 2 punches and 1 paper piercing template. She has a really bad cold so i didn't stay very long. I hope she gets better soon. I was waiting to get these because i needed the fish stamp from my free kit to finish my layout. It's for the weekly challenge from Scrapbook Centrale

Here's my Lo and also the sketch on which it's bases on.

a little update

There's not much going on. Charlie has given me 2 good nights (only waking up once) so last night i got 7 hrs sleep, that feels good!!!

He now weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs, but i'll have a more precise weight on friday when i go to the CLSC. He's in a baby acne phase so he's not at his cutest right now. Although i did take some pictures and probably will scrap this unfortunate phase of babyhood (Brady barely got any at all) Charlie has been in this phase for about 1 week now and i'm hoping it won't last much longer because i want to go get some pictures done at Cheezz photography. I got Brady's done at 5 weeks and i was hoping to do the same with Charlie but if he still has a bunch of pimples it'll have to wait a bit.

I'm curently working on a layout, so as soon as it's done i'll post it. Also myStampin' Up order has arrived at Josee's and i can't wait to go pick it up, probably on Thursday!

Finally...

i made a layout. Dave has been in Miami since thursday and came back tonight, so yesterday Michelle came over after work with her daughter and we had supper (sushi for us and pasta for the kids) After that the kids took a bath, yes together...they're only 2! Once they were in bed i made some chocolate lava cakes while Charlie was drinking. Once he was done we finally started cropping, i think it was close to 8h30 maybe 9 o'clock. I find that so late to start anything, but i really wanted to get something done and of course like usual it took me a while to get started. I knew what i wanted to do, but i wanted valentines day papers and didn't have any. So i decided to go through my stash and see if there was something i could use. I actually found some paper that was decent. Michelle left it was midnight, i put the last touches on my title and journaling and did NOT like the look of it, but decided to put it aside until the next day and sleep on it. Well Charlie woke up 10 minutes later so after all the feeding was done i ended up going to bed at 1h30. All in all i slept approximatly 3 maybe 3 1/2 hours last night.

Today my dad came over to watch Brady while i went to Scrapbook Centrale to go visit Annick that was down for an all-day crop. Dave donated 50$ to the Isabelle scrapbook fund (as he called it) Thanks Hunny! So i bought a few things that made my layout look alot better than it did last night. Unfortunelty because i had written in ink, i put pieces of cardstock over it. It shows in one spot I really love the finished product. See for yourself.

Thank you very much

To everybody that came over on sunday to meet our little guy. I didn't want a baby shower while i was pregnant because we didn't know the sex of the bb and i didn't want to end up with a whole bunch of yellow of green pj's. So i had decided to host a "welcome to this world" get together for the people that hadn't met Charlie yet. We had quite a house full, 13 adults and 9 kids!!! The living room was like a war zone full of toys, but Melanie's kids (Audrey and Jeremy) were really nice and picked up everything at the end of the afternoon.

Charlie got some nice clothes and lots of bath products, this kid is gonna smell GREAT!!! Most of the time the guys were downstairs watching the hockey game in high definition (Dave just got it installed) and the girls were upstairs with the kids chatting and eating. I made this really delicious lemon mousse cheesecake and there were the traditional things like crudites and chips and little sausages in dough.

Oh yeah! i also got a layout and a card done for a weekly challenge on the SC forum. here they are:

this card is based on an Ad
and the layout is based on a sketch

the visit

I'm so happy, yesterday was a big day for Charlie, first of all he got circumcised in the morning and in the afternoon Tamara, my best friend from high school came down for a visit. She lives in Ottawa now and at least for the next 2 years. She's in the RCMP and is on the musical ride. She stayed over night and left not to long ago. I think she enjoyed her visit because she kept telling Charlie that she was in LOVE and if she could take him with her. It was really great to see her. We don't live that far away from each other but we don't get together often enough. Her work takes her on the road from May to October so, you know... Here's a couple of pictures I took of
her and Charlie. Dave was getting home late so i made some Cumin Chicken and we cracked open a bottle of wine, for dessert we had chocolate lava cakes and damn good conversation! We are definetly gonna have to repeat the experience!

On a more sour note Brady woke up this morning at 7 o'clock...YEAH!!! except that during the night he had thrown up on his pillow and it was all over his hair. So we jumped in the shower to wash up, and when i checked his temperature he had a 101,5 F fever. I gave him some Motrin and he threw that up within 20 min. so we waited a while and then i gave him some Tylenol, hoping that the fever would go down, then he started asking for food so i gave him a tiny piece of toast. When that didn't come back up i gave him another little piece. He went for an AM nap (which he hasn't done in a long time) and when he got up he still had a 101.5 fever. he had a little bit of plain macaroni for lunch and went back to bed at 2pm, still with a fever. hopefully that won't last too long.

I'm so tired....

Charlie, obviously, doesn't do his nights yet. we'll go to bed between 10 and 11 pm and then he wakes up around 1 or 2 and then again between 4-5am. I find that last bit hard because i went back to bed around 3 so i only get 1 hour sleep in between feedings. And Brady has been waking up between 5h30 and 6h (but usually closer to the 5h30) And then Charlie doesn't really sleep long in the morning, between 6 and 6h30 he's up. What gets me going is that during the day he'll sleep 3-4 hours straight in the morning and the same thing in the afternoon, but at night he goes 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Just look at how peaceful he looks sleeping during the day.

My husband is also very tired, because the baby noises keep him awake and he has troubles falling back asleep when i get back to bed. He better get used to it fast because in the morning he looks like he got hit by a dump truck! I bet he can't wait for his next business trip, it will seem like a vacation.
