i am sad to announce that TGF stopped the relay due to the extreamly high volume of participation. the gallery and blog kept crashing... so anyways i did receive my next digi this morning and got right to it he is so cute! i read the news when i checked out their blog later on... sad.... but understandable. i'm just bummed that i won't get a chance at all the digis left to the relay.

Here he is in all his glory...Prince Ian!

i used the new BoBunny "love bandit" collection, it was perfect!
i also triple stacked Ian, so i did lots of coloring! LOL!

materials:
cs: Prism
pp: Jillibean Soup
stamp: limited digi stamp - the greeting farm
ink: Copic
ribbon: unknown
chipboard: Maya Road

PWCO papercard kit - Hippo Bird day!

I love this stamp, it's so witty!
A fairly simple card. I embossed a piece of Core 'dinations cardstock with the Cuttlebug Birthday embossing folder, layered two different sized ovals, using spellbinders nesties, one on Prism smooth where i stamped my image and the other on MME dp. I also cut a scallop oval (spellbinders nesties) in MME dp. I placed the gorgeous spiral die-cut at the bottom and faux-stitched with a black pen (also on the scallop oval). I thought there was something missing so i used the two die-cut petal shape, placed them like a heart and attached them with a doodlebug brad. Voila a quick card that took me about 30 min to make, maybe a bit longer 'cause i was watching TV at the same time, LOL!

materials

January papercard kit (cardstock, papers, die-cuts, brad)

cardstock: Bazzill

papers: My Mind's Eye

stamp: PWCO - safari friends

ink: Memento, Copic

other: Spellbinders Nesties, Cuttlebug Birthday embossing folder, Doodlebug brad, MME die-cuts, Zig pen

PWCO papercard kit - Sketch #15

ok so i had these big paisley die-cuts in the kit and right away i thought i'd use them for sketch #15. Of course one thing led to another and I ended up not following the sketch exactly but i was inspired by the half circle on the left side of the card. I wanted to use the big paisley there, but it turns out the card looked better if I turned them around and placed it on the bottom. So I don't know if it counts as the sketch... I also used the Jacob and Charlotte under the tree and fussy cut them out and placed them hand in hand inside the big paisley. I covered them in diamond glaze to give them a nice look. I also covered the heart in the top paisley with diamond glaze and sprinkled them with loose white glitter.

materials:

January paperkit (cardstock, design paper, die-cuts)

stamp: LLS

ink: Memento, versamagic (brown chalk ink), Copics

other: Heidi Swapp distresser tool, diamond glaze

PWCO papercard kit - loving the outdoors

I am really loving this kit! so far i've made 8 cards and I still have supplies left!

this week i chose a paper-pieced card i made using the Jacob and Charlotte "standing beneath a tree" stamp. Everything was fussy cut; the tree with the grass and then Jacob and Charlotte were added back onto the grass in their original positions. I decided to create a landscape backround with different papers and i also paper-pieced the tree (not a traditional color, i admit), Charlotte's dress and Jacob's shirt. the tree has been pop-dotted. On the inside i anchored my tag with one of the doodlebug brads, since it was pink and didn't quite match my papers i colored it with a copic.

Materials:

January papercard kit (papers, cardstock, brad)

pp: MME

cs: Bazzill

stamp: Little Loud Stamp - Standing beneath a tree

ink: Memento, copic

other: pop-dots, Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, doodlebug fuzzy brad

holiday pictures recap

i can't believe we're already 1 week into January! i've been meaning to do a post with a recap of some of my favorite pictures from the holidays at our house. Of course i'm in none of them since i'm always behind the camera. Can you believe i didn't even think of using my tripod to get myself in the x-mas morning photo?! oh well... maybe next year. (was that a resolution?) speaking of which, i never make them since i can't keep them! but there are some projects i'd like to get done this year so maybe i'll make a list after all.

i have lots of cards made...too many in fact! i think i'll be setting up a shop, either Etsy or Shop Hand made.com, this year to get rid of a few. Anybody have any pros/cons regarding these two shops? Tomorrow i'll be showcasing another card from the PWCO jan papercard kit.

ps: my dad is still in the hospital, may be getting out soon. (Updated: i just got a call he is getting out today, so i'll be picking him up after supper)

i'm gonna leave you with the pics in question. just so you don't think i ever wash Charlie's face... the pics where he's got this great dirty mustache is because he just discovered hot chocolate and he loves it! these pics were taken right or while he was drinking it.

PWCO stamp launch projects

I'm sorry i wasn't able to post these projects before today. Let's just say we had an eventful New Years Eve day. As some of you that have been following my blog for a while know my dad spent the better part of 2009 in the hospital, 8 1/2 months to be exact. He has been home with us since the end of august and his recovery is stable and was doing well, he is still on an undetermined sick leave from work but all was progressing nicely. Well... on december 31st, just before lunch, my dad decided to take our new puppy outside to pee. Since he's still a puppy we carry him in our arms to go up and down the stairs, well my dad slipped on a tiny patch of ice on one of the steps and fell about 3 or 4 steps. We called an ambulance because it was too painful to breath, i spent the rest of the day with him in the emergency. remarkably we didn't have to wait too much. by 7pm he was the ICU having had X-rays and a scan. The results: 3 broken ribs and a damaged spleen. his spleen bled but it seems contained. they are keeping him in the ICU for observation since if his spleen gets worst the outcome could mean emergency surgery (let's hope it doesn't get to that). He also got an epidural for the pain so that he can breath easier and not create respiratory problems in the long run. he should be in the hospital for a few days. I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come for 2010...

OK so on to the fun stuff!!! here are the two cards i created for the PWCO new stamp release. They are all so cute and i had so much fun coloring these! (yup, that's how i rate a stamp: how fun it is to color!)
